*It is a fictional story centered on actual events. In 1525
a young Swiss mercenary fighting for the French King falls in love with a
woman, then loses touch with her after he returns home. After a short period he
sets out to find her, only to find her again in Rome, married. Heartbroken he joins
the Swiss Guards before the Sack of Rome in 1527. During the battle in Rome
Imperial soldiers run off with the woman. The young Swiss Guard leaves Rome to
rescue her, risking his life numerous times to save the one person he has ever
truly loved.
